A little about me...

Dave Mac launched Razzamataz Tonbridge in September 2013 having spent 35 years in the trade as a comedian and comedy actor. Dave began entertaining whilst a tender 16 year old in the Royal Air Force and has performed on stage, screen, cruises and radio, recently for example, starring in Cromer Pier Theatre Seaside Special. He has produced and managed entertainment and shows at some of the biggest and most prestigious holiday centres and resorts in the UK and abroad.

Dave says: “I am delighted to be bringing Razzamataz to the children and young people of Tonbridge and have a first class team of teachers as I make it a priority to offer students the opportunity to work with the very best teachers and performers in the theatre whilst having FUN! in a funky and safe environment”

Having spent 35 years in the trade Dave began entertaining whilst a tender 16yr old in the Royal Air Force running Radio Wyton 522 the NAFFI entertainment and disco. Leaving after 5 years to pursue a career as a comedian he was to find a home at Pontins Holidays as an entertainments manager. Fast becoming an accomplished comedy performer he travelled extensively entertaining in theatres, clubs and holiday resorts worldwide.

Dave’s background also means he has a number of commendations including from the Metropolitan Police SO5 Command for child safety.

Dave is now an established figure within the local community often being requested to perform, organise and run major events such as compering the first Stage at the Tonbridge Christmas Lights with KMFM for 2 years running while establishing, booking acts, comparing and managing a second stage at the event for the first time in 2014.

Dave is very proud of the 80 Razz Tonbridge Students who performed on Stage one this year.

Stephanie Vezmar

Principal Dance Teacher

After studying GCSE and A-Level Dance/Performing Arts, Stephanie went on to train at Stella Mann College of Performing Arts graduating in 2010 with a Level 6 NQF National Diploma in Professional Dance. During her 3 years she trained professionally in all areas of dance and theatre and was selected as 'Head Girl' in her final year.

Since graduating she has worked in a variety of different areas of dance and theatre. Professional theatre credits include; Peter Pan, Las Vegas Nights, IGNITE (UK Tour) The Circus of Light and most recently Dick Whittington where she took on the role of Fairy Bow Bells. TV Credits include: Opening credits Dancer and Extra in ITVs Britannia High, Dancer in the UEFA Champions League Final at Wembley stadium. Stephanie has also appeared as a dancer and featured hand artist in Jessie Wares music video 'Night-Light'. Alongside this, Stephanie has worked with a variety of London based Contemporary Dance company's allowing her to perform both Nationally and Internationally.

In June 2013 Stephanie joined ‘Awareness Through Dance’ and travelled to Nairobi, Kenya to deliver dance workshops to a variety of schools and slums. Along with 12 other dancers, she then climbed Mt.Kilimanjaro to raise funds for the completion of a school building in Burkina Faso. Stephanie passionately believes in allowing all children the right to a good, solid education.

Stephanie is a Professional Member of the Foundation of Community Dance and strongly believes in making dance and movement accessible for all. She has taught in a variety of schools across Kent and is passionate about teaching all ages and abilities.

Shonna Damms

Principal Singing Teacher

Shonna graduated from Royal Holloway University of London with a top honours degree in Drama and Theatre Studies.

Shonna’s Theatre credits include: Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar (UK Tour), Ensemble in Elegies for Angel’s Punks and Raging Queens, Lead Vocalist for Thomson in their touring production team on the Greek island of Corfu, Lead Vocalist on Island Escape for Island Cruises, Cinderella in Cinderella, Ensemble in Baby and Personals at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Sister Mary Amnesia in Nunsense (UK Tour), Lead Vocalist for The Stadium Theatre Company onboard P&O Artemis, Tinkerbell in Peter Pan, Three seasons as Lead Vocalist for The Headliners Theatre Company onboard P&O Arcadia which included receiving the esteemed award for “Top Cast” in the Fleet, and The Slave of the Ring in Aladdin.

Shonna has also concluded a prestigious World Tour and Grand Alaskan Voyage for Headliners Theatre Company and most recently has returned from an 8 month tour of Asia working for the exclusive Japan Cruise Line.

Shonna says “I am thrilled to have taught so many great students so far we were all so very proud of them performing over the last 3 terms and looking forward to passing on my extensive knowledge and experience of the business to more eager young minds!”

Nick Britain

Principal Drama Teacher

From 9 years old, Nick began training at Yew Tree Theatre School as well as training and attaining high standards in gymnastics and trampolining before concentrating solely on his performance skills.
He firstly gained an A level in Theatre studies and achieved grade 4 in violin and grade 3 in guitar.
Nick has completed a Foundation Degree in musical theatre at distinction level, and is continuing his training at the prestigious London School of Musical Theatre next year. He has performed in productions of Beauty and the Beast, The Full Monty and Pantomimes, most recently starring as Danny Zuko in Grease for a Cheryl Baker production to name but a few.

Nick says “I have had a great 3 terms as part of the Razzamataz Tonbridge Team and am looking forward to bringing the joy of performing to my new students by passing on what I have learned.”

Anna Vassiljeva

Dance Teacher

Razzamataz Tonbridge is delighted that 26 year old Anna has decided to join the team having just moved from Estonia, where she graduated from the University of Tartu Viljandi Culture Academy as a Drama and Dance Teacher. Many of you will have met Anna this summer at one of our promotions where she was an instant ‘hit’ with children and parents alike. Anna started her sport and dance training at the age of 6 at Estonian Rhythmic Gymnastics School. In addition, she has performed in Estonia in a vast array of dance festivals, shows and competitions she has spent much of the last 5 years performing around the world on cruise ships as a professional dancer. Anna is highly skilled in contemporary, musical theatre, ballet and street dance.

Anna says “I am passionate about my dance-teaching job now. I am experienced in teaching dance in Estonian schools and now I am very happy to be part of the wonderful Razz Tonbridge team and bring something new and interesting”.

Kristina Poliszczuk

Lead Vocalist & Singing Teacher, Drama

After achieving a BA(Hons) Performing Arts and a 'Vocal Tech Diploma' in Popular Music, Kristina has worked as a Lead Vocalist and an Actress overseas and in the UK for the past seven years.

She has been teaching since 2010 and brings a wealth of experience to her classes. She teaches Singing & Drama in Kent Performing Arts Schools, has run preschool music workshops in London and has taught Singing in the “Tempo Dance and Theatre School, Cyprus“.

Her past performance experiences include “Shooting Stars Entertainment”, “Mad Dog Casting”, “Thats Entertainment”, “Chaplins Pantomimes”, “Presumed Innocent Shows”, “Royal Caribbean Cruises”,

“Thomson Gold”, “My Travel”, ”National Westminster Choir”, “Maidstone Operatic Society” and “Maidstone Youth Music Society”.

Kristina currently works as a Solo Act and with covers bands and has just formed an originals band project as Lead Vocal and Songwriter.

Kristina says “It is a privilege to be part of the Razzamataz team and I cannot wait to work with the students and assist them in developing their confidence and skills”.

Isabella Luba

DRAMA – DANCE – SINGING Support TEACHER- Workshops

Isabella is an enthusiastic and fun member of the Razzamataz Tonbridge team and has been involved in the performing arts since she was 3 yrs. Isabella has done everything from Annie, to extra work and outreach projects. Studying drama at the University of East Anglia has allowed her to explore and build on her previous performance knowledge. Furthermore she has learnt new skills such as stage management, set design and script writing and is always looking for new projects to take on and learn from. Recently she ran both education and fun drama workshops in schools. A highlight of her degree was studying the Meisner technique, physicality and emotional scale. She was extremely excited about becoming a new member of the national youth theatre, who are ‘turning out’ Stars such as Daniel Craig and Matt Smith. As part of NYT she has explored new elements of theatre such as ensemble work, clowning and spoken word. Isabella will be back with us from this September after finishing her last year at university. Isabella chose to stay with us at Razzamataz Tonbridge during her studies. l and the team are very glad to see her back as indeed the students will be. As you can see from her extensive repertoire she brings many different disciplines to your children. But delivers these in such vibrant and fun way that student’s really warm to her”

Isabella says “I am looking forward to coming back to Razz Tonbridge and deliver fab lessons and exciting workshops. I can't wait to meet this new generation of fun, energetic and eager children”

Linda McDonald

Costumes – Classroom Support assistant

In fact there is not enough room to list what Linda does but you know the “behind every comedian there’s a sensible woman” thing? So true! Many of you will have met Linda at our promotional events and had a good old chat about Razzamataz Theatre School Tonbridge and are here today because of her. Linda is responsible for many of the things behind the scenes but in particular the costumes such as those modelled by her and the girls in the photo.

Linda says “I have loved the first three terms and meeting so many nice people and being with the team. I enjoyed utilising my skills in the costume department when the entertainers were putting the children’s shows together.”

Rosemarie Hewitt

Senior Chaperone

Rosemarie has extensive experience of childcare and welfare. Like all of our chaperones and indeed most of your teachers* Rosemarie is DBS checked and has also been chaperone trained by Kent County Council Child in Performance Team and we are so please to have Rosemarie on board as part of Razzamataz Tonbridge’s commitment child safety.
